“L’Autunno” (Autumn) from Vivaldi’s Le Quattro Stagioni (The Four Seasons) transcribed for piano – 1st movement

On September 23rd, the first day of the Autumnal Equinox, I had the urge to pull out Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. I’ve committed myself to learning the entire concerto by the end of next summer. There are three movements per season and three months in every season, so by devoting myself to learning one movement a month, I will have a fun musical journey that will last all year.

“Voi Che Sapete” (“Tell Me, Fair Ladies”) Canzone from Le Nozze Di Figaro by W.A. Mozart

I’m accompanying a local highschool student who will be singing this piece for an All State choir audition later this month.

“La Fille Aux Cheveux De Lin” (The Girl with the Flaxen Hair) from Claude Debussy’s Preludes VIII

I fell in love with this piece when my husband’s concert pianist co-worker played this for us in our home one night. It is a lovely and poignant piece–the perfect thing to diffuse those stressful moments.

“Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” from Solos of Comfort and Healing, arrangements by David Naylor

I found this gorgeous arrangement among my Aunt’s piano books. All the pieces are performance worthy but this one is my favorite.
